Default 405 nm Recommendations

So I've been looking for a 405 nm laser, and had decided to go with one from Laser Pointer Pro, but was prevented from buying it thanks to my credit card's fraud prevention features, which also prevented me from buying the same product from Sky Lasers.

Afterward, looking around here, it seems that Laser Pointer Pro gets a lot of bad press, and since Sky Lasers appears to be selling the same product, I would assume that anything that could be said about one would apply to the other.

Since both of those are among the top results on Google, I'm not really sure where to look now. Where would you suggest as a good source to buy from? And are there any particular models there that come recommended?

Yes, LaserPointerPro is a company you should stay away from. It's good that your credit card company had your back. That said, if you are willing to solder a couple of wires and insulate them after, I suggest DTR as a source which might turn out to be your best bet quality and price-wise. The link is on Google and is DTRLPF. You will have to get a host also as he sells the modules with lenses and drivers already set for you. There are too many sites that offer hosts for me to recommend a single one, but you can find these here on this forum.

Paul, I wouldn't recommend that a beginner build his own lasers. I think Sanwu is probably his best choice for a high power 405nm laser.

Default Re: 405 nm Recommendations

It all depends on whether he can solder the two wires and insulate them. That's why I gave him this option. If not, then he will be better off buying one as opposed to using DTR, who is a member here. I should have mentioned that before.

It's not like you cant just stick a battery between the leads of a complete module l. You don't even need to solder, as 2 small wire nuts will do the trick too (I've never built one that way, I'm just making a point). Building can be as easy or complicated as you can handle.
Of course you can get your card authorized to buy a Skylaser
