2 phr's......

so i just built a phr labby. set the driver to around 110ma and i have anywhere from 11.5 to 9v depending on my power source. I have a charging plug for the batt. pack and 2 external leads for a batt, hook up. i have a 9.6v batt pack inside. works great. but i also bought a phr in an old "cold heat soldering" housing. he said it was a "real" blue ray running in "shante" mode running on 4 AA. now he said that the driver of that was set to 110ma also but the handheld burns alot more than my labby. any sugg. why? i can try to post link for pics if needed. thnx to all in advance. and my labby has way more heatsink than the handheld.....and the laser color is the exact same.

Capital letters, no shorthand, and full stops make your posts more legible, and makes people more inclined to help you - I'm not going to offer my opinion and put in the time to help you if I have to interpret what you've written too carefully. Who is "he" and what is "shante"?

There are natural differences in every diode - wavelength differences that might be too small to spot can still affect burning capability. The driver's power may have drifted slightly. One may be focused better. Some are just more efficient and produce more power at lower currents. The only way to objectively compare them is using a laser power meter, and to know the exact currents and voltages in your build.

yeah idk what shante mode is. i have never heard of it. just kinda wondering. and once my driver is set and its all together and working would it be possible to turn it up just a hair?

maybe the seller didn't set the current properly or the pot got bumped?
This sometimes happens. IT will shorten the life of your PHR if it isn't properly heat sinked, also the kind of lens you have on your labby might be plastic?

Again speculation, but until you post pics we won't know.
The difference between a plastic lens and glass is like night and day in terms of power output. Plastic absorbs some of the blu-ray which overtime will degrade the optics. Glass will allow all of the light through resulting in better performance.

do, post your pics~

here it is. I have a strap that holds the heatsink in proper place. just not on in the pic. It has an aixiz lense but i cant tell if its plastic or glass?

I guess you didn't read what I said about capital letters then? I was going to offer some suggestions but if you can't make the effort, neither can I. AND YOU TRIPLE POSTED AGAIN! Your time on here is going to be limited, you're going to get banned if you continue as you are.

Also a quick suggestion - you should pay careful attention to your privacy online - your email, name, number, state, approximate age, road and phone provider are all available online to anyone who would be interested.

You should have posted those with your OP.-

- One thing I see is that your heatsink is not able to help as much as it can unless you move the module back until just the 'knurled' part shows and use thermal paste(but not too much) - IMO

Don't use silly names that have a 69 in them :)

If you'd have answered with a capital letter, I would have been serious in my response, and told you where the information is, as well as some quick tips to keeping your privacy online, but obviously it's not important to you, so why should I make it important to me? If you quoted my post, which clearly says to use capitals, yet respond to it in entirely lower case letters, you're beyond helping in my opinion.

thank you very much seoul. i will.

How much was the axiz diode mount? is it the stock kit? IF it is the stock kit what you got is a plastic lens. (plastic isn't a great option when you are pumping 100s of mW of near UV through it, btw.) What you need is the AR (anti-reflection) glass lens for blu-ray
and they are a little pricey ($10-15 each)

Nice lab module. Did you make it or buy it?

I currently am searching for 3 modules for my lab MMLM Multimini-lab module supply.
I was given a Korean made CCW switch mode PSU 5.5-15VDC in and 3-5.5vdc out that is use to professionally power high power diodes up to 550mA. Module auto adjusts current and voltage to run the diode. Very useful!

I have a 6x blu-ray running ~240mW av (300mW) (peak) and a 360mW 650-660nm red that need potting in a module such as you display in your picture.

The 3rd I want to use as a tester lab module with a socket

No disrespect intended, but this guy hasn't made a good impression at all, and you haven't seen all of the threads he's been in. For example, just earlier this evening, 2007Rev merged 6 posts of his in a row, into one post, but yet he's triple-posted again in this thread, despite being shown the correct way to do it. He's either doing it on purpose, or fails to understand anything he's told. Either way, not showing himself in a positive light. I'd say it is justified in this case; I wouldn't be doing it otherwise.

Did you ever think he might not be totally computer literate or might be having browser or connection issues? I doubt this guy is posting improperly on purpose. there is no benefit to do this and just makes people (mods) upset.

I have double posted before due to a slow connection. We call this double tapping.

Please judge not by this but by content. HE is new. Let this person know how to post properly and remind.
