$14.25 SF-AW210 sled or $25.00 GGW-H20L sled?

Hello, I need help deciding which of the two sleds I'll be ordering for my first build. Does anyone know how the latest batches from both these sleds are like? I heard the latest AW210's can only do 170ma on the BR diode and that its red is a SOC, but is it worth the $10 saving? I would be using the red diode for a second build so would a GGW be worth the extra $10 for the higher power BR and a much better red LOC? I was shooting for the best mW/$ ratio I could build. I know this already is my third thread about a 'first build' and I'm sorry, but I need to be sure about what I'm buying before attempting a first build.
Thank you,

First of all, it's really all about how much power you want from your br diode. Power is money, and I believe the GGW has a more powerful br diode, yeah?

Second, where are you able to get an SF-AW210 for 14.25? That's a pretty good deal. I might buy them out. :D

j/k but that is a pretty good deal. I might get a few for that price.

Third, you can get an LPC-815 for around 8-9 bucks, and it will have a more powerful red in it.

Actually, at some point a while back the manufacturer of GGW diodes switched to some lower powered diodes, so they are essentially the same as SF-AW.

So, definetly go for SF-AW210.

I seen a thread on this forum too mentioning about the latest batches of SF and GGW maximum safe currents 170mA and 200mA respectively.

Has anyone recently ordered any of these two sleds?
And why the huge price drop on the SF?

GGW was 200mA before the lastest batch change.

So I'd go for SF-AW if I were you.
Though, if you want to experiment on your own, you are more then welcome. Post results :)

I'll go with a SF-AW210 to build my pointer then. Then I have to find some use for that red SOC. BTW, what is its rated power?

I got a LCC red from the GGW sled and it is still working fine at 395mA in the Aurora C6 host. I thought that the LCC and the LOC have the same characteristics.

The GGW has three usefull diodes, IR, red and 6xBR.

The SF-AW210 has a short open can red diode and I already found a PIV plot

I think that it should be safe at 300~350mA for 200ish mW.
I never heard of the IR diode on this sled, any info anyone?
