Hey, I was wondering, why shouldn't you have a laser on for more than 30 seconds? And are there laser that can be on for as long as I want?

A laser's limit for time left on depends on how well the heat dissipates. If too much heat builds up, it'll fuck your diode. A lot of lower powered lasers don't have that time limit, also known as a duty cycle, because they don't generate enough heat to cause potential problems.

Alright cool, that helps a ton. I'm planning on having it on for EXCESSIVE amounts of time (say, 3 hours at a time :yabbem:). So a lower power one, huh?
Well shoot, I wanted a bright one so it'd be easier to use, like a green one, but now I'm not so sure what to do...
