Hello LPF. Well my name is Angelo. Live in New Mexico all my life. I'm into knives, flashlights, fast cars and fine timepieces. Like all the above, I've had a fascination of them growing up. I've had your simple rink-a-dink laser pointers from keychains, $10 office max pointers, etc.

I've been reading a lot on here and still have a lot to go. With that said, please excuse any potential stupid questions or posts I may make. I'll try to research as much as I can before posting/asking.

One question I have is, I know about WL, and the above banner, warnlasers.. But what would be a good place to buy a 1-3W laser in the states? Or good forum builders on here? I know that might be a lot :)

Thank you all.

Regards,
Angelo

Angelo,
First let me welcome you to the forums. This is a great place to gain knowledge on lasers.
As for buying a laser, even a wicked lasers one, I suggest you take a look at the BST section in this forum, great deals appear all the time.
As for getting a known builder well I can't suggest any but I do know that if you start searching you will soon know where to buy or who to buy from. Then there are the new builders, and as long as they can give proof of what they sell I see no problem in purchasing from anyone. A LPM video or pictur is a great way to know what you are buying.

Take care, and good luck

Thank you for the kind words. I found a gentlemen named Blord, which looks to m aka some good lasers.

I hope he has a 2.2w blue host available. :)

Welcome to the forum,

All good hobbies to have, especially the one that involves SRT8's. There is a lot to understand with lasers and the varieties out there, but it is easy to catch on fairly quickly. Be sure to read the stickies about laser safety as well. As for your lasing needs:

What wavelength of laser are you looking for? 445nm (Blue), 532nm (Green), etc.
The wavelength will also determine your power range, and your price range.

There are several good choices when purchasing a laser, narrowing it down to what wavelength you want would be helpful. Several LPF members are builders and do spectacular work (I've got an LPF-build 2.4W laser inbound!), and have the reputation to back it up. Users SixTee9, awillis2589, Blord, flaminpyro, ARGlaser, just to name a few. However if you would like a manufacturer's choice, Lazerer, Jetlasers, and others recommended in the B/S/T section, offer quality work with great perks. If you are in the USA, I personally suggest you buy within the USA, whether it is a second-owner manufactured laser from a company, or a personal build from an LPF member. Shipping costs, time elapsed, and risk of seizure are minimal.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Welcome to LPF

Hi lolvo,

Thank you for the welcome.

Looking at the 445nm lasers. When you say LPF, is that a forum built laser? 2.3w sounds good. More info on how to look into getting one?
