Hey yall. I finally got around to signing up after lurking as a guest for a while checking out the forums here. Mainly I've been increasing my stockpile of my first higher powered lasers. My name is Mike, I'm from Florida in the US. I'm just really starting to get into higher powered lasers, though I've always been nuts about them, I just didn't know of too many great sources to find good lasers for a good price, the only place I was pretty much familiar with was "Wicked Lasers" and nothing else really, and after reading some of the comments about Wicked Lasers I'm glad I didn't make a purchase with them as my first. Mainly issues with actually getting them out, and having customs problems was my main worry with them. Anyways, I've been dealing a lot with Max at LAZERER lately. He's a really good person and gets things out real quick and packs them up real nice. I've become quite a fan, which is actually why all my lasers but one are from him...
My first purchase was a 1W 445nm "STICK" model from LAZERER, and I picked up a little 50mW "CLASSIC" model at the same time. Of course with some goggles (though I already had some coming in from somewhere else, I wanted them here when the lasers got here incase the others werent). I am NOT about to do damage to my eye at 25 years old. And yes I am pretty much very safety conscious, and it actually upsets me a little when I see other people completely ignoring the fact that these things can do big time damage (for example, a local gun shop started carrying "Survival Lasers" and one of the employees was showing it off to me, and pointed the 1.2w 445nm beam right at the light colored counter top, a little to my left thank god, which gave me time to look away, but there were customers around not expecting this).
Back to my other lasers, like I said I picked all of these up from LAZERER, as I am just getting started and I know he sells nice lasers for a good price.. I also have two reds, a 200mW 650nm (255mW stable) "CLASSIC" and a 150mW 638nm (160mW stable) "MINI". BTW I forgot to say, the 1W 445nm is 1013mW stable and the 50mW 532nm is 57mW stable with 4mW IR. I also have a 200mW (234mW stable) 405nm "CLASSIC" from LAZERER. For shiz and giggles I picked up a little cheap-O 5mW 405nm from Ebay a while back, and believe it or not, it's fairly surprising and is pretty decently bright for a $6 violet laser, with the beam being fairly dang visible in the dark and the dot being pretty dang bright..
Look forward to become a part of your little group here. I'll load up some pictures and beam shots of all my lasers soon, when I get a chance (see my avatar, that's the 1W 445nm at dusk). BTW I'm waiting on another order coming in. I'll fill yall in when/if it arrives...
