Hey everyone, Im Jake, long time reader (since early this year) just got around to joining the forum prolly cause i dont usually have a lot to say heh. Anyway, about me... Im 22 and i live in Mobile, AL and i go to school at U of South Alabama. Im a biology/chemistry major, use to be mechanical engineering but it made my hobbies too much like work and the course load is way to high for someone who cant focus on school (guess i can thank gaming for that). Ive worked for a company for almost 5 years that installs medical equipment MRI's, Linac's stuff like that... plumbing, electrical, hvac mainly. Im also an addict to mmorpgs too, Everquest, World of warcraft, FFxiv, if its out there ive prolly played it.
As far as lasers go, I have a few 5mw greens and I started on a PHR build from a free xbox hd drive but im pretty sure the diode was trash before i got the drive, it lights up but very dim at 100ma. Currently got some groove 2 boards and lpc-815, phr-803 sleds coming. Also waiting on a new metal lathe for some custom heatsinks and hosts. From what ive seen on this forum, all of you guys have great skills and a lot of really amazing tutorials and information, i just hope i can contribute in some way :yh:
