Hi there.
My name is Lucas - I'm programmer and Polar areas enthusiast (wintering on Polish Polar Station "Hornsund" in 2012), and I'm very interested in IR.
I have several "devices" for my IR play.

1) Camcorder (PowerShot A800) converted to IR by removing internal hot mirror (made myself) + two filters
2) IR 720+ pass filter
3) IR 850+ pass filter
4) IP camera with NightMode - 11 IR diodes
5) 3W IR flashlight
6) I just bought THIS 808nm 1.1W laser (I will have it in few days):
808nm 1000mW Infrared Laser Pointer

There are also some photos and videos using IR, I'm going to use this new laser as IR illuminator:

Best Regards.

Photos/Videos can be made from hand using my converted camera

I hate to be there bearer of bad news, but...

PL 808nm 500-2500

I thought the case looked familiar to me, it looks like the website you bought your 1w 808nm from just bought it from the website i linked, marked up the price, and RIPPED YOU OFF VERY BAD...
Laserbtb.com 1w 808nm= $235.50 or 2w 808nmnm=$345.40
Your listed website $599.00!

I would also like to point out that the laser you will soon receive (or the laser from Laserbtb.com that you should be purchasing with the money you get from returning this first one before ever using it, IMHO), is/are not toys, and should always be used with Eye Safety FIRST and ALWAYS...

Not at all :(
Just received it.
It seems to be a lot weaker.
On the laser there is written class 3B max peak power <500 mW
I just have been fooled
Now gonna argue with seller and allegro.pl negative comment.
In item description there was written "Class IV" and 1000 mW - while I receive <500 mW class IV

Also some issue with it.
After some minutes of usage the beam seems to loose power, once light is stronger once weaker, once not at all - but this may be due to weak battery, right ??

Bad luck :(
I'll make some movies with my IR converted camera and up to Youtube soon - to show You how it works - but I'm very disappointed :(

It blinks, looses power like this - I dont know what's wrong - it's my 1st laser:

OK, but this is not simple weaker - beam is 100x weaker, or blinks or just dissappears - after about (I don't exactly know) 1-3 minutes, if You want just take a look on movies posted to YT - it happens on all 4 cases.
Initially beam is rather powerful - even visible to naked eye - remember this is 808 nm and is visible as dull red dot. To camera (convrerted to IR without hot mirror on CCD) this is VERY bright light - and in this blinking it is weak visible on camera and of course not visible to the eye.
EDIT:
No this effect in 1st movie
Best visible effect on 2nd movie
It just suddenly lost beam in 3rd movie
In 4th movie it is blinking and loosing beam power at the end - my comments audible in 4th movie.

OK as my 808nm pumped frequency doubled 532nm green laser gets hot, it goes from 54mw to about 1-3mw after 2 minutes constant on... After it cools I get full power again... It does not have much of a heat sink and as the whole assembly gets hot the beam weakens and the crystals get out of alignment.

Fine - I will buy battery charger and make sure it is not battery fault.
Also seller told me He sold/packed bad laser (hahaha)
And he will return half of price to me.
I asked him to send me correct one 1.1W instead, and once received I'll send back 500 mW to Him.
But I think He's a liar - and He have no 1W 808nm. In that case I'll get half refunded (or not if He's double liar). Bad luck....
Thanks for info.
And to be sure - battery rather won't be couse of this power loss?
