Get well - if they have you doing any rehab be sure to follow-- I had three ops on one knee and after the last one(TKR) they told me to rehab at home on my own and I just did not do it right- when I was going twice a week to the clinic i did good but this last time I dunno-- the resent weather changes makes it hurt a lot and my bad knee swells up..hope you get better!!

I am one of the younger melanoma patients my doctor has had. 22 years old and two.surgeries within two months. Was hoping that the first surgery would remove it but it spread to the lymph nodes so I had to just get them all removed. Thats about 90 total (60 in my neck anr 30 in my armpit)

The soreness is doable with the meds and I am in good hands with my mom who is a nurse and my girlfriend. Sucks my family has to deal with this too but they have supported every decision I've made andI think o made the right ones.

Now just a few months and some PT qnd I shpuld be back to normal.

Sorry for the poor grammar, stiff neck anf on my phone but wanted to give everyone an update.

Yes a very serious form of cancer but they caught it very early. A few more mm deep and it could have been life threatening so yes I am very lucky and happy to be here and found this. This pain and discomfort is very acceptable conaidering the alternatives. The pain will continue but that's short term and I am hopeful that it is all gone and I can live a normal life again. Def a huge eye opener since I thought I was as healthy as could be, get a mole removed from my neck line due to discomfort with shirts and I get this news

My back is screwed up from lifting 100Kg speakers and from going snowboarding. Got to go and lift those speakers down again now, i have 4 70Kg speakers stacked starting around head height up to the ceiling! I know some great stretches that will really help your back, first you should ice it and apply some heat to get mobile, rest well and start with gentle stretches, you may want to try anti-inflammatories to start with. Once you feel safe to try some more in depth stretches then i can tell you more about the best ones. Basically if you can relieve some pressure from your discs the inflammation will go down and there will be less pressure on the nerves. You can relieve pressure by stretching, this means you will be less tight so the discs won't get pulled together so much. Right now your muscles may be in spasm and seized up to try to protect your spine, it's normal. When stretching breath as deep as you can. (tiger balm may also help). I have to go now and pack down from New years. There is a post i made of a laser build on the 31'st and a shot from the lasers inside the party. Enjoy and to all the injured peeps on this thread. LL, totally admiring the positive attitude. If I should ever find myself in a similar situation, I hope that I will handle it as well you have.

Things like this are also tough for a primary care giver too. After you are finished healing, help your mother get some closure to this chapter by treating her with something special to her. She obviously cares for you deeply. So treating her to dinner or something would probably really be appreciated. I bet you're already planning something, but I thought I would mention it just in case the thought hadn't occurred to you yet.

Trust me I owe my mom and girlfriend deeply. This isn't easy on me but it isn't easy on any of my family, even the ones not here to give me care.

I'm going to see if I can take a photo of my neck and how crazy it looks but if it looks to nasty then obviously I won't post it. To me its just tubes and dried blood in thr glue but to others it may be nasty so it'll prob be a link instead of embedded. That way I wont gross everyone out :beer:
