hi!
i actually never post in the welcome section in any forum but i have a good feeling about this one.

so my name is Uriel, im 19 and from Israel :O

you dont have to read this------------------------------
when i was 8 years old my dad brought me a red laser-keychain pointer, very tiny but i remember it being strong and even reaching clouds, even though i didnt see a beam and it was probably >1mw
my friend stole it from me and then all lasers were weak here ):
in 2007 i saw wickedlasers website which looked cool but too expensive
i ordered 2 cheap green 5mw from ebay, one i tried to drill to pot mod but destroyed it
and then 2 months ago i entered wickedlasers again and ordered the E2 100MW for 50$, only afterward i found out they dont even have the lasers yet.. so im waiting
meanwhile i bought 2 30mw lasers from dealextreme for 12$ each
---------------------------

so i really like lasers it makes me feel like im touching everything and i can rule the world
im glad i found this forum :)

Try not to live out that idea of yours, or you might find yourself in trouble real fast.:tsk:
There are many things you should NOT "touch" with a laser pointer,
as I am sure common sense will tell you.
Just read the forum, be safe, happy lasing.;)

Shalom, Zuven.

As you can imagine, this hobby will only get more and more expensive. Soon you will find yourself thinking "Wow, I already spent that much?!" :)

But to many of us, it's totally worth every cent we pay for parts and lasers and tools.

Indeed, holding a beast laser that can be seen reaching clouds is very mighty feeling however, as you already know, it's not very wise to go around pointing it at any sort of traffic or anywhere people can be.

I would advise you to search and read about the "DPSS" lasers which is short for "Diode Pumped Solid State" lasers.

It will answer many questions you will have about your DX pens , possibly Wicked Lasers pen too "Why is it unstable in power?" , "Why is the dot changing it's shape?" , "Why oh why xxxyyyzzz ? " And so on.

I hope you have also purchased some safety goggles too. If not, HURRY!
You can find good googles on O-like.com , however their site is down at the moment, I will give you a link when it comes up.

Don't forget, lasers are not only dangerous to the one playing with them, they are dangerous to everybody near the one playing with them. So respect yourself and others, and use your lasers responsibly!

Indeed. You just never really know when some reflective glass piece or something appears right in the path of the beam and... you know the rest :(

$20 for laser safety goggles? That's nothing when compared to your ability to see.

Well, we all wish you a warm welcome to the forum :)

If any questions arise, you can freely send me a Personal Message (PM) anytime. We are only one hour of time apart so I should answer them more or less instantly. Also check out my MSN and Skype adresses which are right under that green bricks under my name.
