Greetings all
My name is Dave and I'm in the Gainesville area. I'm a retired auto mechanic with cameras and computers as interests (and now lasers).
Been lurking ever since the Artic surfaced at Slickdeals and have read this forum extensively. I'll try to avoid the noob mistakes.
I have learned a lot already about the Artic and lasers in general from this forum, and I am grateful to all the members that have posted such valuable info.:thanks:

I ordered June 14 #489xx, it's at the Post Office to be picked up today. (G1)
I'll report back on it shortly.

Everyone's new once - every single person here was at some point. :) Realizing the mistakes is what counts, everyone makes them, as ped says.

Do try to look into other lasers besides the Arctic though, there's a whole lot out there!

Welcome to the forum.
You should count yourself as lucky that you are retired now. Diagnosis is more of a job then repair ever was in the good old days of carbs. and points.
My diagnosis scanner cost $12K and $1k per year for updates. And around $2K in specialty tools for each new model year.
Now with the Hybrids and electrics coming out, it's a whole other ball game out there. Enjoy your stress free retirement and your new hobby. Mark

I was big into diagnosis when I retired (4 years ago). I ran an auto inspection service for people buying used cars. There are a lot of "parts changers" and not very many than can actually fix things out there. I'm glad you are keeping up with the tech.

Dave:thanks:
