25 years ago I made a hologram with Open University with a He/Ne laser. Now lasers are easily available, I wanna do some more with them. I have a RED 650nm, GREEN 532 nm, and BLUE 405 nm, all 1mW standard pointers.
So far I can produce the standard vortex with rotating mirror, and AP spray for fog. The BLUE is not so impressive, but RED and GREEN are amazing. I've tried CD material (excellent), and shiny tape (weird) as mirrors.
Oh yeah, I've teased the cat too, and my grandson!
It would be good to know if they can be boosted by bigger batteries?
I have some electronic experience, building and soldering, etc, but it's a few years ago now!
To power the rotating mirror, I've tried a Dremel drill (too fast), electric screwdriver (too slow), but the best so far is a Scalextric car motor with 1.5v battery.
