Hey-ooh!

Hello guys, allow myself to introduce.....myself. I just happened to stumble upon this site after getting my first greenbeam today, and already, I want to spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for a bigger better laser haha!

Anyway, I'm Brian, and I hope to become a welcome member here. I've been fascinated with lasers and the like since I was a wee lad, and not much has changed over the years. 'Cept the whole "wee lad" part. But alas, I digress. During my stay here I would really love to learn how to build one of these things myself. Being in the trades, I like to build and unbuild things, but I never thought to try a laser. I was reading about one made out of an 8x blu-ray burner, and all I could think was *OMGIWANTONENOW!.* Some of the things I've read about on here lead me to believe that there are some very talented and bright folks on here, and I look forward to your guidance.

Anyway, that's about it for my fancy little introduction, it's a pleasure to be with ya'll!

There is a ton of information here to fill your needs. Look at the stickeys relating to builds in the various color forums and use that search feature. You will need basic electronic test and repair equipment too.

Haha thanks for the warm welcome, guys! I'm slowly leafing through everything on here! TONS of info to be had, and i'm already looking into my first burner
