Hey guys, I'm just your typical poor college student. I've been away from the seen for awhile and it seems like a lot has changed (a lot of the good old sites are dead now). Due to a recent promotion at my job I now have money which means I can afford lasers now! Nice to meet you all

Welcome from one new user to another! Got any toys yets? :D

Right now I only have a 5mw water damaged novalasers discovery series pen and a 100mw+ rayfoss 532nm. I've ordered a DL viper 400mw 980nm (which they are having to get from the manufacturer because they didn't have any in stock.) So I won't see it for a few weeks. I also bought a 5mw laserglow off a forum member and a pman 405 NM 82 mw pen. Along with those I also just ordered a laserbtb pl 445 1.6 watt which seems like pretty good bang for your buck. I'm probably gonna get some stuff from sanwu in the near future too (his stuff literally looks like lightsaber replicas :0).

Welcome to the forum. Despite their banner, don't buy from scifi. They're having a LOT of complaints lately. Reputable companies to buy from include sanwu/jetlasers/skytech/laserbtb etc.

Yeah it didn't take much (looking in the companies board) to tell scifi is having some issues. Any recommendations on what's good from sanwu?

Sure. Depends on what power/size/battery range you're looking for. I'd recommend their challenger series as a good starting point. I'd recommend their spiker series if you want something big, powerful and crazy looking.

These are my sanwu lasers to give you an idea.

Do you think the beam expander is worth it? Probably helps with the cook lightsaber effect...

Totally worth it. With the expander that laser can pretty much put a noticeable spot on anything within what feels like a mile. It also makes the beam look a lot less divergent going into the sky and can project onto low lying clouds. As an added benefit the beam expander will thread onto any other sanwu lasers you have. For $45 it adds a lot of extra functionality to your sanwu laser(s).
