Hey!

Hello all!
My name is Adam and I live in sunny England (sorry its July and the weather is shite...).
I am interested in high power lasers, in fact anything with the potential for a little destruction :drool:.
I am a novice with laser tech, and slightly above novice with my electrical skills, so basically I am here to find stuff out and maybe give some back when I have accumulated the knowledge to build this bad boy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUXXGbNS8oY.

Whats a tannerite lol? (googling now!)

it is a compound that when impacted with extreme force detonates (very loudly!)
Marksmen and other shooting sportsmen enjoy using this stuff for rifle targets.

very fun, and extremely useful for long range target shooting, as it allows for instant feedback on targets to far away to clearly count bullet holes. Viz if you see it explode in a plume of dust, you don't have to walk 1000 yards to check if you got a hit.

I did a quick google search and yeah it looks frikkin awesome lol, shame i live in a country where only the upper class really have access to guns (or those with alot of private land!)

I will need some goggles, i have been hit in the eye with a low power laser before, it hurts... idk what a high power laser will do to an exposed retina, but it cant be good :evil:
Anyways, just about to start a new build thread as i have just managed to get 50x 650nm 5mW @5v (in 6mm modules) laser dot thingies for about 40cents each, and as i may well kill 50% of em that sounds like good practice lol .
Now I just need the rest of the bits, wonder if i can make a burner from em... hmmmmm :evil:
