Hello hello,
First timer on LPF, I'm SheikhD. I live in Canada and I've had a fascination with lasers for the past 3 years. Although it has been that long, I have only purchased 2 lasers, 10mW 532nm & 20mW 532nm. Also, I currently studying Electromechanical Engineering. I am looking for a more powerful laser, but under, let's say, $80? As I'm a student, I'm pretty broke lol :p so can't go on spending too much $
I've been looking at a few lasers from familiar sites; DX, PriceAngels, and DinoDirect. I recently placed an order with PA (300mW green(turns out to be red) laser), but unfortunately it hasn't worked out too well and waiting for either a refund or equivalent deal. Anyway, sorry for rambling on and on.
Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm SheikhD, or just Sheikh (last name :p) and I look forward to finding out more about deals and general info on this wonderful site. Oh and not to mention getting to know the members here as well.
Peace,
Sheikh D

Hey iFosh,
Thank you for the info, I'll be sure to check it out. Quick question though, is it possible to get a >150mW 532nm laser for <$80

It is possible but it won't be great quality...and it would be luck of the draw. Some of the cheapo lasers hit that high but they typically aren't stable. I recommend O-like or Rayfoss for a decent quality first higher-powered laser. They are priced well for the quality.

Edit: Be sure you get eye protection for a laser with that much power too!

I just sent you a PM about a laser I would be willing to sell.

hello and welcome
don't forget googles for the nm your working with when getting into higher power lasers. You've only got two eyes, and you want to keep them working.

Yes, of course. I have a pair already, bought it when I got my first laser pointer (10mW). I probably didn't need it for that, but wanted to be on the safe side as it was my very first one. But thank you very much for the suggestion. Much appreciated :)
