A violet beam is more visible at night than red. Blu-Ray is not blue, it is far from it. True blue is 473nM.

does anyone make ones closer to true blue that aren't a billion dollars? lol
i think i'll go the way of blu ray sometime in the future. maybe if enough people petition dx for empty dilda cases cause i think they are nice (er than a flashlight)

how about them 3.6v cr2's? i cant find anything on them... does dx have any?

erm... no.. unless you work for a laser company like dragonlasers and you can get the hookups. Or if you found a way to order all the parts including the rare crystals for a cheap price.. or if someone in the buy sell trade section is selling their blue for a good price, there is really no way to get a cheap blue.

I'm in vacation in Florida. Your throat gets wet from just breathing! And you get all sticky. Other than that, it is awesome. There are also geckos everywhere... i caught one yesterday, and it bit me :-/

There's a few more somewhere out there. Most red laser tutorials can also be used to build blu rays, all thats changed is the diode and current.

I keep reading about using parts from dvd burners, is this necessary. This will be my first laser. I just wanna make something that is bright and possibly burn stuff.

Pretty much any diode here is from something. Nothing wrong with that :D
