About the magnet's with wires hooked to them, are you referring to charging 26650's? i don't actually have any was just wondering if they even fit in decent 4 bay chargers. looking at my Luc v4, it says 26650 right on it now that i actually looked at it though. =D

I have that same charger and yes it charges 26650 but only in the two center slots. What it and most chargers don't fit are 36650, they aren't used much in lasers though but with more powerful diodes that may change.

The LUC v4 is hands down the best charger ive found. I've had the nitecores and stuff. It's the only charger that will actually charge 4 batteries at 1 amp each all at the same time if you're in a hurry but also allow you to use .5 amp for normal charging. The nitecore i4 i have is the slowest thing known to man with 4 batteries in it. I believe it charges at 275ma - 350ma fully loaded.

The 36650's are basically equivalent to D cells right, for use in maglight mods? If so then yes im pretty sure those are going to end up being pretty popular as power keeps increasing just for sake of heat dissipation and battery life. Even at 2 watts 22mm of solid copper and aluminum heat up fairly quickly.

No they are even larger than D cells, there is a 32600 that is the same size as D cells. Sometimes maglight mods use a plastic tube to make them fit 26650.

Thanks for the info PI R. Didn't realize they even made a 32600. Guess if you want some duty cycle and/or high power bigger is better since there's no way to disperse heat in a handheld device.
