Hello from San Antonio, TX

Hi all,

My name is Jose'. I'm married (11yrs) with two boys, 4 and 2.5. I've been in the Navy for 13.5yrs and only have 6.5 left, can't wait. I've very into anything R/C so that's where most of my play money goes.

I'm a total newbie to lasers. The only laser i've had was an $80 Radio Shack special when i was a kid. I just watched some videos and am now hooked. i don't want to make the mistake of buying the coolest looking laser and wasting money and possibly blinding myself or my two boys. I tend to jump into the "BEST" just to have it. I want to start out slow and do things right. I'd really like to give someone on the forum some business for my first couple of lasers.

I think i want to start with green because it seems to be the most visible at night. I want to be able to see the entire beam and point out stars. I'd also like to shine random objects to have fun with my boys.

Please give me all the advice, tips, thoughts, etc. that you can.

That is where TEXLEM was last March- afaik TEXLEM II willbe held there hopefully whne its a tad warmer maybe April. The venue is about as good as you will ever see. A 1924 Church converted into a preforming arts center and run by some wonderful people-- The have a nice Christmas Laser Show there that is a fav with the local families especially the kiddos.

BTW I think is great that you are including your boys -- who knows they may someday be the inventors of yet another use for lasers.
Lasers are now considered to be a more significant invention than Edison's lightbulb.
