Hello dear LPF members!
First of all -- it is my fault that I get started with posting my first messages not in this section without introducing. I am sorry for that. But it is never too late to introduce myself ...
So, let's get started
My name is Ivan (first name/last name: Ivan/Kudryakov).
I am living in Russian Federation in little city called "Shuya". It is just transliteration so you can just speak it "harder" and there it will be
A long time I was confused about posting this because writing messages in English is still a hard work for me.
So finally I've decided to do this and please, don't punch me if some phrases looks confusing or too unclear -- just tell me about this, I will be happy to know something new!
Back to the introducing ...
I am 23 years old, 1 year ago I have successfully finished my university and now I am working as a programmer who writes software for Android OS powered devices.
Most of my time I spending at my work place with my computer.
I like reading. By the way, a big part of read texts is placed on this forum
Also I very like movies, but not only common movies ... Anime. I have found something interesting in that.
And of course video games! Especially games with many many blasters and laser powered guns!
And now about the lasers ...
The first my laser was a pet toy <5mW red laser pointer (I can't remember exact wavelength) powered by three small batteries.
My dad has been bombarded with many requests to by this one for me. And finally I got it ...
I was impressed on how beautiful the light that is going out of this pointer ... It is not a simple glow, it is like a big amount of shining diamonds under white light.
This laser pointer finally became dead after few weeks of using.
Many years later I found in the Internet information about burning lasers that created from a DVDs laser diodes.
After that my PC lost his DVD-ROM instantly ... After some googling my first laser gun became working.
It was placed in small flashlight with three AAA batteries with one resistor.
And it worked! Only few minutes ...
After that I found some russian site with some laser stuff.
I bought a laser diode, an AiXiZ module with glass lens, a driver and a flashlight powered by one AAA battery (LedLenser A2)
Without having any tools except soldering iron and rasp I built my first stable red laser pointer (approx power was at 200mW and wavelength at 650nm).
PS This pointer is alive now. But it seems that diode's resonator is corrupted.
And that was beginning. After that I bought the WickedLasers Arctic with safety glasses.
This was my first new and powerful color. Big amount of matches was killed by this gun
After that I have started buying lasers and now I have one more laser from WickedLasers (405nm), 2 lasers from DragonLasers (473nm, 589nm), one unnamed and CNI PGL-III-C (589nm).
Unnamed laser was arrived with power ~300mW without any IR filter ... Thanks God at that time I knew what is a DPSS laser and what is an IR filter in a DPSS laser module.
Some time later this pointer has been modified by me -- an IR filter is now placed at the aperture.
Few months ago I built two pointers based on MXDL 3W flashlights (638nm, 520nm) and bought the LaserGlow's Rigel-5.
At now I have one project with my custom designed host that has been already made by Mrcrouse (big thank you, you are the Man!)
Now, I have understood one thing -- I do not need any laser with power over 50mW, or even more than 5mW for wavelengths with high visibility.
Lasers is a very beautiful things that should please eyes without damaging anything ...
I am very glad to join this wonderful forum. LPF is a big knowledge base and a community of good and smart people.
Many donations is already done and many donations will be done.
Sorry for long post and thank you for reading!
Be happy and safe! And never point your laser to an anything that do not want to be wounded by your laser!
