Hi, I'm Kevin.
Like a month ago, a TA in one of my circuit analysis laboratories got me interested in lasers. Naturally, i instantly built one with a lot of his guidance. I whipped together a 405 nm 200ish mW from hightechdealz and stonetek stuff. Every step of the build was awesome and smooth. (Goggles are mandatory of course.) Then i realized this forum exists and i'm totally psyched to talk about more lasers and BUILD MORE LASERS! Oh yeah, i'm a mechanical engineering student, and i'm very comfortable using a lathe, metal casting, CNC routing, plasma cutting, and the list goes on. I get "free" shop time if i want, as long as i pay for materials. That being said, i'd be glad to help any other members create some ProEngineer files of heatsinks and whatnot, create dimensioned drafts and drawings, and perform actual thermal analyses or whatever. I'm here for you awesome folks if you promise to help me out with my laser curiosities. Seems like an awesome place to facilitate self interest.
