I just found this forum after about 5 minutes of searching for information on lasing, and within two days I had my first order placed with Sci-Fi to support the community that unknowingly helped me pick out my first high power laser.

Just wanted to stop by and say :thanks:

I chose the SF501B ~1.6W

I'm already looking at one of jaybobs mini builds for a more practical everyday laser, I think I can handle one of his builds even though I've never worked with electronics.

I'll definitely do a review, even though I don't have any way to measure the output and I'm sure ill be blown away with it either way.

I'm just hoping for fast shipping times or I might not be able to use it for another month.

I tend to go overboard when I start a new hobby. Unless this is just the hype of a new toy, I just might take your place in a year or two:wave:

Make sure you grab some glasses dude, safety first. Lasers are not toys, but you can still have fun.

Welcome and good luck with your laser purchase.

Remember safelty first---get some laser goggles---ocular damage can occur with that lasers in less than blink reflex time of .25 seconds---no way to stop it from happening because it happens so fast---laser goggles will give excellent protection.

Yep, got some Eagle glasses on the way, if I like em I'll buy a second set. I'll mainly be doing sky pointing with them but better safe than sorry I suppose.
