Hello LPF, ive spent some time here over the last few days, and got a lot of my questions anwered but there are still some things i would like to know because im going to buy a new laser soon.

The first handheld i got, was the Hulk Ultra 350mW from Dragon Lasers which i still have and its still working, i really like that one, not counting the other 5mw lasers that i had, before that, which probably got lost somewhere. :D

So im thinking about getting a really powerfull one, for burning and .. well .. just to have a real monster, that i probably should lock somewhere.

The first problem is the Law, from what i read, most countries dont allow anything higher than class 3a, but i can still try and hope that it comes through. My Hulk wasnt a problem, but thats already 5 years ago, at least.
And buying as a bundle like this probably wont make a difference either, i guess.

The seconds thing is, i REALLY need some goggles.
Yes, i know having a 350mw laser and no goggles isnt really a good thing.

My next laser will probably be a 445nm , to get some real burning power, maybe 2 - 3W, so i need good goggles.
Can anyone suggest something, that protects as much as possible? In other words, something that wont let light through even from the sides?
It doesnt need to be cheap, im willing to spend the money that is needed to get really good ones.
OD4 or OD5 will be needed i guess?

I really dont wanna do anything wrong, thats why im asking :yh:

Thats all i can think of, atm, so thanks in advance, LPF has helped me alot so far, although i wasnt a member, until now. :p

Oh and sorry if my english isnt the best, im not using it that much :D

Hi Robert and welcome to LPF from another new member. For quality eye protection check out Laser safety glasses,IPL safety glasses,eaglepair-Home. I'm sure others will be along with other recommendations but I have heard nothing but good reviews about eaglepair glasses.

PS your English grammar would put many native speakers to shame so no need for the apology!

Hello Robert, Welcome to LPF! I will put a link below for you to purchase your safety glasses. I just wanted to say that If you like 445nm lasers, 1w is by far more than enough to burn! A 1w 445nm also seems to be a common first build around here. I'm sure if you wanted to, you could build a 1w 445nm for less than $125-150 USD if you were budget minded. Also, there is a link in my signature to my first build. Either way welcome aboard!

If you are worried about customs, you could always search for a european seller...

Thanks, i do know Survival Laser, however, im still not sure if id need goggles which also protect against IR, because of my 350mw hulk. I believe its IR filtered but im not sure.
So this would be my choice without IR, and this with IR protection. Any recommandations?

About building my own, maybe the next one, but i guess i will either just buy one this time, or get a bundle, which would at least show me a bit of the inside and the different parts.

I really like your first build btw, i hope ill be able to put something like that together, in the future. :)

Wasn't there a list somewhere? Im pretty sure ive seen one.
I just hope that there is a big enough range to choose from.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. :thanks:

Thanks. I would personally go with Eagle Pair® 190-540nm & 800-1700nm OD5 to be safe, and also, may not be the last 532nm you buy.

Thanks, but at least you dont need to search for the right words, to use, every time. :D
Im often missing something some.
Your doing good for not being native though. I have to use Google translate if I want to talk in another language. ;)

But being a native speaker does give you a huge vocabulary, probably 50,000 words.

Haha, yes exactly, thats my problem, my vocabulary is kinda limited, im often using Google translate, too, to look up single words, or see if im writing them wrong. :D
