Hi all, delighted to have stumbled upon this group. I am a University Professor from Chennai, India, with interest and expertise in solid mechanics, computer vision and machine learning. I have no knowledge or prior experience in lasers, but looking forward to learning from the experts.

I wonder if you remember Ravi Shankar? He was a sitar player that played with The Beatles. Quite famous 50 years ago.

...I wanted to ask that too.
I am sure he knows such a famous person.. I saw him live twice.. and met him the second time at Woodstock...his music is magical.
(IMHO the Beatles played with Ravi.. not the other way around--lol)
