I'm Jordan. I am no n00b to lasers nor this forum. I throughly understand how diode and DPSS lasers work (nothing about CO2 and Gas lasers). I am very strict on laser safety and I know the potential of the lasers I possess and handle. I've been on and off this website for the past three years but haven't made an account until about a month ago :undecided:. I started to become interested in lasers from watching Styropyro's videos, and continued to build my first build, using a PHR diode back in the 8th grade. I completed my build, but it failed as I finished. I noticed that a resistor had fallen off the Flexdrive I was using from soldering. I suddenly gave up on building lasers as I was too afraid of failure and losing money from buying parts that would probably just end up in the trash (so dramatic :cryyy. I just began buying little 5mW lasers here and there.
Now, I'm more interested and confident in building because of my better soldering skills and limiting FDA laws and the risk of customs, but now and then I will probably buy some lasers from O-Like or something. I'm just starting to get back into lasers as they are gradually getting less and less expensive for me to come around and seems like a more practical hobby for me now.
I sometimes lack common sense, so sorry if that ever happens around here .
I'm planning an Ehgemus build soon and have already started buying parts for it.
