Hello

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking here for the past month or so, slowly gathering information for my first blu-ray laser. Though adequate use of the search button I've learned so much, yet there is still so much more to read. Now that my laser is finally coming together, I figured it was time to introduce myself.

I got into lasers nearly 5 years ago when I bought my first green leadlight. It couldn't quite light a match, but could smoke dark plastics and looked amazing at night. Back then non-red lasers were prohibitively expensive for me and this hobby gradually faded from my life. Now that I've rediscovered lasers, I'm glad to see that prices have dropped to more reasonable levels (not to say they're cheap). So now I'm building a PHR-803T laser to accompany my old leadlight (which is amazingly still alive and kicking).

I'm glad to be here and I look forward to learning much more. Perhaps I'll be able to meet some like-minded people here, and maybe even make a few friends.

Yes, welcome, and I hope you do find many friends here. This place is addictive, tho.. I find myself reading posts I wasn't looking for, but found interesting anyway. The folks around here are fun.

Welcome to the forum! There is tons of info here that will help with PHR builds, and lots of members who can help with specific questions about a build. Soon, you'll be wanting a powerful red, too. As you probably well know by now, there are lots of great laser deals to be had here on the forum, whether it's diodes, drivers, lenses, or hosts that you need. Don't forget eye protection ...

532nm is the center wavelength emitted by your average dpss green laser. Its the color of my leadlight. But who knows, maybe I'll have to change my username to spectral405 when I finish my PHR Blu-ray .

Yeah, I find it amazing how much I learn from threads I wasn't even looking for. There's so much interesting information out there just waiting to be stumbled upon.

I just ordered a pair of $7.99 anti-green goggles from focalprice.com, which should cover both the blu-ray and green lasers I have. They should arrive in a few weeks.
