Hey everyone! Im Jacob. I got my own 30mw true DX greenie from advice on these forums a month or so ago. I love it and have a hard time leaving it behind when I go out. I tried my hand at a DIY red burner mounted inside of a snes 'super-scope' gun with my friend, but he shorted the diode while I was in the bathroom lol. Thats all my experience but I get how they go. Im currently working on a 803T But I still need the host/driver (See my post in the blu-ray section...)

I just want to say I love these forums. An incredible wealth of info here!

If you still need a host and a driver, and want to go with a tried & true methodology, stick with the MXDL host that Daedel outlined an easy DIY on this forum: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4171

For the driver, the lavadrive2 from DrLava cannot be beat. Since you only have a 3.6v host, the lavadrive boost circuit takes that up to the required 5V and gives you adjustable, current regulated power. http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1209418066

Looks like we almost even have enough to have a Treasure Coast laser meet! (Fool's Gold anyone?, they actually mention Vero Beach, my town, in the movie.)
