Default Greeting from a newbie from Japan

Hi all,

I am Tery, I come from Japan, now I am doing some experiments related to laser. Actually, the laser I used is not a pointer, but this is a very actively forum, so I would like to ask your help.

I am doing an experiment that projecting a laser beam to a flame which propagating in a tube. I am using device SYNRAD Firestar v20. Here is the spec of the laser device:
- V20 Firestar Series Compact Low Power CO2 Laser Tool
- 30VDC Input power
- Current Rating: 12A
- <100µsec rise time
- 2.5mm beam diameter
- <7.0mR beam divergence
- 10.57-10.63µm wavelength
- Linear (horizontal) polarization
- Air cooling
- 15.2" x 4.6" x 5.8" overall dimensions
- Ideal for small cutting, marking applications
- Laser power is adjustable from 2-20W

It can only project a laser beam and you can see that in the attachment to see the scheme of experiment set up? the tube have 50mm of diameter. I would like to ask for the idea modifying the device or suggest a new device that I can use a parallel laser beams (at least 4 beams, one at center) projecting to the flame in the tube. the total laser power doesn't need to reach at 20W.

Thank you very much for you attention and hope I can get some help.
Cheers

I think you will find interesting for combining multiple laser beams the LPF thread here--examples are of visible wavelengths so need to be adapted for use with the wavelengths, 10,570nm to 10,630nm, you are using--see:Reference Guide: How to Combine Lasers https://laserpointerforums.com/f51/r...ers-77449.html

Welcome to the LPF, gt2006. I still don't know what you are attempting to do with this CO2 laser, but seems Encap has steered you in the right direction. Maybe I could also help if you could explain what it is you are trying to accomplish with this setup.
