Man, I need another hobby like I need a hole in the head, but here I am. LOL.

Well...I've always had a passing interest in lasers, and it's been awakened again. Some of you may already know me if you're on the Canadian gun forums.....I'm one of the moderators on gunownersofcanada.com. A buddy and I are also on our way to starting up a small firearms business as well.

As if those two things didn't eat through my pay checks fast enough, I've been bitten by the laser bug again. After snooping around a lot of the Chinese websites, I decided I needed to do a LOT more research before blowing a bunch of cash on wild claims of high powered lasers with low quality advertising.

I found the site a few days ago and started poking around. Thanks to the owner(s) for providing it. Even with the brief reading I've done, I've already learned a lot. Here's hoping for a lot more enlightenment over time.

Cheers !

That's a good idea ;) There's lots of websites with top notch advertising and the worst quality.

Nice to see another Edmontonian! Welcome:wave:

Small world !!!!

I may have a lot of questions over the next little while :yh: but I still have a lot of reading to do. First, and foremost.....is there anywhere here in town that I can get a REALLY GOOD pair of safety goggles...or do I need to order them online ? Price doesn't matter....quality does.

No, not that I've found. You would have to purchase online.

If you plan on building your own lasers I have a large stock of drivers and can spin off custom Heatsinks. Diodes and modules can be purchased from senior LPF members here.

It's way more fun to build your own.

Well...being a long time ham radio geek and someone who's repaired electric drive forklifts for the past 16 years, you can bet your last dollar that I will be building. I really need to organize the man cave a little differently. Since it's my ham shack, and reloading (ammunition) room....well..you get the idea. I really don't ever want to make "that" phone call to the insurance company. So...what were you doing when the fire started Mr. xxxxx ? Best to just get all of one's ducks in a row and take precautions before hand.

Thanks for the link lasersbee.
