Hi, what a great forum!
Been intrested/amazed by lasers my whole life, just now getting around to perusing this as a hobby. I'm from Mobile Alabama, and am a construction contractor.
Recently purchased a 7w cree kit (hasn't arrived, any day now can't wait!) Own and have owned low power lasers (303) etc. Been studying up on saftey etc. Been lurking here a few weeks and felt obligated to join. Was a licensed amatuer radio operator (ka4vbw) at the age of 16. (Long time ago) Man, you guys rock! Gonna do a 1.4w green build soon and am interested in the nubm08. Thanks for letting me behind the curtains,
DANNY MOORE

Welcome, Danny. You might as well hear it from me first. That 7 watt blue laser is dangerous and you need to get a good pair of OD5+ googles to protect your eyes. It only takes a simple mistake and you will lose the sight in at least one eye.

Thanks for the heads up Paul,
After lurking here a while and reading up on the web, I came to that conclusion myself, altho the kits come with glasses, I have purchased others. I value what little eyesight I have left (and others). Any saftey issues or tips are greatly appreciated.

Welcome! A lot of us buy quality laser goggles here.

If I can borrow Styro's words, 'Stay Safe and Happy Lasing'. This is one of my favorites.
