Hi I'm going to start something like I survey to get some info for myself.
So what green laser do you have (company strength) and how long did it last?

Are you only interested in knowing about 532nm greens, or should I also count the of 515nm greens too?

I've got a couple cheap ebay pens, they vary in brightness and consistency wildly, if you get a few, one of them is bound to be decent, but they're a couple bucks, so you get what you pay for. I also have an LED Shoppe 50mw green pen on the way, (should be here, but the shipping is slow) Whenever it gets here I'll post pics and a short review.

I have a Rayfoss "200mW" 532nm. Link is here: http://www.rayfoss.com/productn.asp?ArticleID=34

It says that it is >200mW on the spec sheet, but it does not say that it is IR filtered, so my guess is that a portion of that is IR (even though I can't seem to see it on my camera through the glasses....)

EDIT: Just ran a quick test, off of a nearly fully-charged battery I was getting about .55A of current draw. Assuming a roughly 20% efficiency of this set-up, we are getting a 110mW output of green, the rest (my guess) is IR... :(

Well you really need to be lucky to have a cheap laser who will last long, most are dead fast, some are lucky others not.
I heard the o-like 200mW laser module is a good laser and it's mega cheap http://www.o-like.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=17

Just save some extra money and buy that 1 keep it nice and cool don't let it heatup above 40.C and you will have a nice laser , remember eye protection =)

DarkReaver, I'll be sure to post some pics and info when the LED Shoppe pen comes in. In the mean time, you may want to take a peak at these threads if you haven't already:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f44/index-work-progress-62480.html (has a lot of good general information for new people, like myself)
http://laserpointerforums.com/f44/newbies-guide-buying-first-lasers-27801.html (you get what you pay for, mostly suggests very reputable laser companies, with pricetags to match)
http://laserpointerforums.com/f45/guide-buying-your-first-green-laser-30608.html (talks about very good companies, but briefly mentions some slightly cheaper alternatives, that still have some amount of quality)
and of course, use of the search button finds many a thread about various companies. I gues the basic premise is, you usually get what you pay for. If you shell out the big bucks, you can get a stable garanteed output laser, if you spend less, then it could be good, it could be bad. It all really depends on what you feel is worth your money. Anyway, happy lasering, and I'll PM you when my LED Shoppe laser comes in and I have a link up. Happy laser-ing! :D

Also, don't forget safety glasses, if you haven't picked that up from the forums already, your eyes are worth more than your wallet!
