My new red laser pointer looks like a Hulk ultra

Hi to all!!!
This is my new DIY laser pointer, made by a 4 x AAA powered dorcy and a Sony SLD1239JL diode.
I have set the LM317 based driver circuit at 200 mW of output, and I have used an Aixiz glass lens instead the acrilyc.
I have made by turning machine the heatsink (the head of the dorcy).
The driver circuit is over the batteries.

I want to paint the heatsink black, but with normal paint, will not be a good result. I want to anodize the heatsink myself, but I have to find some chemical components and I don't know where I can found they.

When I will found they, I will post the result on LPF

what exactly is [highlight]anodize[/highlight]?

Anodize is the process for attach to alluminium (or other metals) the color pigments with a chemical process. If you see a minimag blu or red colored you can understand. Or you can see some motorcycle part in ergal (metal alloy) that are colored red, blu, yellow or black with this process. Under there is a link to a picture of anodized metal.
