Hello all. New to the forum. I am looking for some companies that will make laser pointers that will project my company logo. Wasn't sure if this was the correct place on the board to post this question and if not I apologize. Any feedback or insight you can provide would be most helpful. Thanks!

You mean you need some of those caps that project an image like you find on 2 dollar pointers? You need some custom made diffraction gratings. Those are obtained through a series of microscopic and very precise scratches on a flat glass or plastic lens. Unfortunately I am not aware of any company that offers this service, and neither have I seen a thread about it before, but maybe someone else can be of more help. :(

What switch suggests would be the option.
I just googled "custom diffraction grating" and got loads of hits, this was first on the list. http://www.holographix.com/Gratings.php
Good luck and when you get them done free samples are always appreciated;)

Just make friends with someone who has a Good 30k scanner and have them convert the logo to a laser type picture thingy, Idk what its called.

I don't think a scanner will fit the bill;)

A diffraction grating is going to make a pattern of dots, what you need is a custom made hologram. I have been thinking about doing this type of thing, arrange a bunch of ball bearings on a surface, expose a film (must be in the dark and held solidly as do the other imaging items , laser, mirror, spreading lens and beam splitter), to them illuminated by both the array and a reference beam, (spread beam that lights them up and the same beam split and sent straight to the film, the interference recorded on the film will be a large hologram of the pattern of dots the balls reflect, after developing, this can be cut into many very small pieces and each, when placed in front of a laser, will project those dots. If this is done in a good dark and solidly built framework, it may be a good hologram, and could have commercial applications such as you want. -Glenn

I dunno....It was my first impresion that he wants laser pointers with caps that project the logo for the purpose of giving out free souvernirs like you would give pens and lighters with your company logo.:undecided:

That's what I assumed as well. Although if you were to use a scanner to project a company logo, raster scanning wouldn't be the best way. Plain 'ol point-to-point scanning would give a much clearer image.
