It took me way to long to realize the 350mW version has a 'W' in its name and this one has a 'V' with all else being the same. I too would be interested to know how well these handle being over driven, I doubt we will see KLC432FL01WW levels of awesomeness but even 3W of 405nm for $100 would cool.

Something fun to do is compare a 445 to a 405 side by side and the 445 will look dark blue.
Now compare the 445 to a 465 or a 488 side by side and the 445 will look violet.

Amazing how our brains process vision.
Two people with the same laser and different color wall paint may see the color of the beam differently.

This 425nm @ rated 1600mw could be a neat color ( also under development ) > https://global.sharp/products/device/catalog/e-catalog/laser/index.html#page=23

It lacks the 'C' at the end of the part number but is still rated for 425nm @1.6W. The 424nm laser in my signature is that diode being driven at 600mW and to my eyes does exactly what you describe above when I compare it to its neighbors, perception based on context is wild

Yeah these are available, I need to get to posting pics. I have a few at 425 and one at 420, and even those are noticeably different in color.

I'm still wondering if anyone has tested this 1.1w 405nm diode.
It's listed on ebay as GH04V01A2GC and also as GH04V01A2G,
without the "C" on the end.

So the divergence is not as good I take it ?
I wonder how bad the divergence is on this 3W unit ? Maybe as bad as a nubm44 ? At 520 clams I'm not going to be testing it any time soon.

WOW.... On paper...or on screen that looks good, similar to GH04W10A2GC which says ( Typical- 14 / 41 ) or am I missing something ? Sometimes they say @ half angle, this one says [ NOTE 6 ] which reads " Reference Standards JIS-C-5943 " is that like a camshaft that advertises measured lift @ 0.050 vs. gross ?
