Advancements of DPSS lasers, anything to read about it?

I remember around 5-8 years ago, i was drooling at 532nm pointers with a power of 500mW, they were big but i was imaginging the power compared to my pointers.

Now i see higher powered dpss lasers of 532nm in smallers hosts (jetlasers).

The diode industry wasn't standing still with the crazy 445nm advancements, but how do dpss lasers progress? It's still the same instable but good beam statistics lasers? Or where can i read what advanced these things?
