CNI 800mw 532nm portable w/ adjustable focus quote

Hello everyone

This is my first post on this forum. But I have a quick question I just got a quote from CNI for the portable 800mw 532nm with adjustable focus instead of the fixed focus. They quoted me 600usd and 80 for the shipping does this sound like a fair price from them?

Sounds pretty good for a 800mW laser. Unfortunately I contacted CNI yesterday & they will no longer ship 5mW+ units to the US :(

It wont matter because CNI doesn't ship to the USA if handheld lasers are >5mw :mad:

They also told me that about a month ago when I fist contacted them about the laser.... but CNI wrote me back lastnight to say Hey guess what we can sent the laser to you now but... it will be sent disassembled in 3 parts. Also they knocked the price down from 1090usd to 600usd hahaha. My quess is the rep I am dealing with is hurting for some sales plus for me. But I would write them back ASAP and ask if they would do the same for you by taking it apart in 3 parts and sending it to the US. Check back and let me know what they say.if they say no then I can give you the name and direct email of the rep I am dealing with.

I have never had CNI say something like that to me :crackup:

It's probably not super helpful to the laser enthusiast community if you start posting private emails from companies on the open forum.

You are right didnt think that one thru. Just didnt want anyone calling me a liar is all.
 
But just so I am clear this is a very good price on this laser or should I keep looking I really want a 800mw 532nm thats focusable

No I don't think anyone cares to call you a liar, makes sense and lying would not do us harm only u.
 
Its a fair price, shipping cost is normal; however, they should have stopped exporting >5mW portable lasers. There would be a good chance you wouldn't receive anything (importing >5mW portable lasers isn't legal)

Even if it is broken down into 3 parts still think it would get cuaght up in customs? Would hate to loose out on 700 bucks

A laser being caught in customs is Always a possibility. Having it broken down into 3 parts only increases the chances of it not getting caught!

That being said, I believe CNI is on the FDA's watch list so even if it's broken into 3 parts there is a chance it will still be investigated.

You can build your own, but really high power 532's are not on the easy to build list. I've built a 445, 532 and had the parts for a 635 (killed it D:) I live where anything over 1mW is classified as a weapon, so I still think you guys in the US have it easy. :p
