what power of green in RGV laser?

That Chroma Program is excellent. Thanks for the link! Perfect as I start my RGV build Jules

    PWM or TTL controlled driver

I hear you. What happens is that the output voltage drops to 1.2 VDC (give or take a little) National has a similar circuit in the data sheet. The transistor pulls the output down to 1.2 when used for protection while using the LM317 as a voltage regulator. Also, if you look at the board design...

    PWM or TTL controlled driver

Success!!!!! I had my schematic drawn incorrectly. I built three of these on one board and will be using them to drive a RGV configuration similar to the White Fusion. I fired it up with a 1W CREE White LED as a test load and it went straight to 1.7amps and would not adjust. Then I realized I...

    PWM or TTL controlled driver

Ahhh... But that is not what should happen. The LM317 ia actually a voltage regulator. In "normal" use there is voltage divider on the output to ground with the adjust pin holding 1.2 volts between adjust and output. So, what I am hoping will happen (i'm going to experiment tomorrow with a power...

    PWM or TTL controlled driver

I want to build a PWM driver for my red and UV diodes. (6X blue ray and open can Red) Has anyone tried this approach? I am using an LM317 with pot to set the current then a 2N2222 to tie the adjust pin to ground when I want to turn it off. Any one have any thoughts on the best) and safest way to...

    Glow In The Dark stuff

LOL! So now someone points out I can get a sheet already made cheaper. Note the "hang time" of mine once exited. You can see my dyslexic LPF rules long into the next session. This thing makes a great GITD graffiti wall. I made a smaller cheaper one usugn a 2oz bottle of cheap GITD poster paint...

    Glow In The Dark stuff

Re: Glow In The Dark stuff UPDATE Well, I got the paint and made my poster board. It is about 3X4 feet. It really excites well and is a blast to play with. Ultimate Graffiti kind of thing. It has a long persistence though which makes it not quite as cool for a spirograph show kind of thing. My...

    803T diode gives green light

Totally Cool! I can see the 3D. (A good way to do it is cross your eyes at the images and then focus on the combined image) At the physics level, there may be some impurities that are causing a different bandgap region to appear. Green would have lower energy that the UV and would start...

My first 803t improvised parts build *pics are up*

Re: My first 803t improvised parts build *pics are Congrats on your Build. I have been here a couple months now and must agree. This is the coolest board out there. Everyone was really helpful and informative. I used the Axiz module but put it in a project case with toggle switch like yours. I...

    Glow In The Dark stuff

Well I got my freakin 50 dollar per cup GITD paint. Wife hasn't seen the Visa bill yet lol. I opened the can and pointed my 803T at the wet paint. Sweet! I will make my GITD panel and post results this weekend. I am not sure if it was worth the price but I can't think of any other way to get a...

    Glow In The Dark stuff

I thought about buying a Fluorescent Sheet at Hobby Lobby just to check it out. I think I will bring my Laser to the store and discreetly see what it looks like on the poster board... I KNOW my wife would not let me paint a wall in it LOL Although then you get a strobe light and do shadow pics...

    My bad

LOL, A guy at work turned 40 a month ago and they filled his office with Black Ballons, then locked the door. I popped a couple through the glass window next to his door. Just couldn't resist... Jules

    Glow In The Dark stuff

Yea, I did a "Hobby Lobby" 4.99 GITD on a poster looks very similar to yours (Except you are using three motors) I GOT TO do that. Nice Job Man! Here is mine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TDTlyhr3HU but it is with two motors. GITD stuff is towards the end I cant tell if the prolighting...

    Glow In The Dark stuff

I am making a better GITD panel and just Ordered 1/2 pint of this http://glowinc.com/detail.aspx?ID=3 I remember Daguin recommending to Not get the Ultra Bright as the glow would not fade fast enough do achieve cool stuff. Anyway, what are other people using for cool GITD paint or anything...

Anyone out there an audiophile or audio geek?

Yea, I will do that "next time" interestingly, I have a real knowledgeable DIY audio buddy and I get the same thing form my Dayton 5/8 tweeters, running 8 of them and they run so low powerwise when it is all divided up that the distortion is very low. Better than a couple 100 dollar tweeters...

    History of the 803T?

Wow, I got in at just the right time. I got two of the $17 dollar sleds, had a intermittent solder joint on my diode that showed up putting it into the Axiz module and blew it. My second is still going strong and I bought a third sled from a GB that I have not harvested yet. That on is going in...

Anyone out there an audiophile or audio geek?

Nice mine are Dayton 5/8" tweeters, about 4 bucks each. I actually did a bunch of research on crossover design spreadsheets and such, bought a measurement microphone ($50 beheringer) and they are pretty flat. You would not believe what people can do with Microsoft excel these days. Mine have no...

    History of the 803T?

Who first figured out that we could yank the diode and DIY it into our own creations? WHo was the first on the board to build one and figure out the pin out etc? I am fascinated how information like this gets disseminated gotta love the internet. I gotta thank the board for getting me back into...

Anyone out there an audiophile or audio geek?

Nice line arrays! What are you using for tweeters in them and what frequency do you cross them? I am building my LM3886 "Gain Clone" this weekend. (Can't just build laser stuff lol!) Jules
