Re: Most ridiculously/absurdly awesome thing EVERR
Maybe there's glow in the dark paint and GLOW IN THE DARK PAINT.
Many moons ago I found a GITD pen, and proceeded to put dots all over my bedroom ceiling - just a few every night. After several months I had the most awesomest starfield, that...
Re: Lasersaber video Review! never before seen foo
"Did you look into it" could also have been a play on words ;)
How many ma or mw are you running your BR?
I just received my $29 lasersabre too, and with my BR at 200ma, the beam "trail-off" (ie dimming in the middle part of the blade)...
I picked up a JetFlash 16GB a couple of weeks ago for about $5 more, so happy with the deal.
My problem is the computer (XP) connected to my projector is FAT32. The other computer (Vista) which I use to record HDTV etc on is NTSF. I can't get the larger HD files to play on my FAT32 whether I...
I have never had much fun with numbers, so even something as simple Ohm's law gives me grief.
If I short out the pot on my 141ma rkcstr, will that give me 282ma?
My first rkcstr driver (thanks Ryan) was adjustable to 150ma, and within 2 mins of playing with it I just cranked it to the max and left it there - I no longer had any desire to throttle back such an extraordinary beam. You might end up doing the same thing.
Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0
Given Australia's difficulty with eBay and LEGAL laser imports, I've ordered one of these instead:

I couldn't find a review on the forum, so I hope it's not a dud...
This looks better on my desktop, as I have a small Orion coming out of Space Station 5 as my only visible icon. SS5 is over to the left a bit from optimal, as my Windows Sidebar is over to the RHS with the full moon gadget in that corner. It looks very clean.
I didn't mention that I clipped the wired to the photodiode, but, again, no appreciable increase in brightness. No harm in reconnecting for the IR filtering to work properly (if I've read the above properly).
Mine is the Jaycar 10mw, so it might not have had quite the headroom of Iguana's...
In the absence of any advice to the contrary, I hit it with 4.5v. No increase in brightness, but the driver started to get hot real quick!
No harm done.
Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0
I hope your deal goes through, Murudai.
Alternatively, you could 'contact seller' and try and do a private deal. I know sellers are wary of this kind of approach as a possible scam, but if you explain the situation you may have some luck.
Iguana, bwana
Did you try yours with 4.5v (or even 5.1v with the e2s)? BTW, some specs on the e2s say they are rated at 1.5v with a 1.72v initial peak, so the glory may not last...
I have a 10mw green module from Jaycar, and when I cranked the pot over, like yours, it seemed at least 3x as...
Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0
I tried to order 2 from Australia, but eBay wouldn't let me complete the transaction.
A link came up saying lasers are prohibited or restricted in Australia, click for details. I clicked but couldn't go any further, even though it did say at...
