Green laser recommendations for outdoor use, sunlight, up to 120 ft, identifying targets with someone close by

I think that as long as the climber is facing away from you, and you use a certified <5mW green laser, there should be no issue. I have a hard time believing you wouldn't be able to see a 532nm green laser dot at 120ft even in broad daylight. Diffuse reflections off of non-specular surfaces...

**HELP** How to know which driver is mine?

If you connected the diode to a power source without a driver or current limiting device, it is probably dead.

Scanning laser ro reveal anomalous object

Sigh, as I expected from these folk. No effort made to figure out the phenomenon, only whimsical speculation. Mods please lock this thread before it gets out of hand.

Scanning laser ro reveal anomalous object

Occam's razor is your best friend. You could believe it is alien nanobots invading your house, or you could believe it is some drywall dust falling off the ceiling due to theremal expansion and contraction (as an example). This is what separates science from superstition.

    Safety Glasses

Could you please put in a little more effort in formatting and grammar? Paragraph breaks, proper capitalization, and periods would go a long way.

Mysterious eye damage from 1W 445 laser

If six professional optometrists couldn't detect any damage, then your eyes are probably fine and you're likely just suffering the nocebo effect and it's all in your brain.

    Beam stopper?

In my opinion the best beam stop (if you want to put in the time to make it) is a stack of razor blades in some sort of housing. The edges of the blades trap light very efficiently and there is almost zero reflection. It also resists very high powers, probably 10W+.

my 1st 405nm laser build went wrong,I need help

You appear to be Chinese, so I'll type my response in Chinese.

Any Idea What The Power Rating Is Of These Chinese Lasers?

The size of the host has no bearing on the laser diode used, which is what ultimately determines the output of the laser. Do not buy from Chinese Ebay sellers, buy from a reputable source such as Sanwu.

Feeler: 10x Melles Griot Beam Expanders

I just did some measuring with a pair of calipers, and I got a diameter of about 3mm, which leads me to believe the input lens is indeed 2.5mm. Unpairedelectron01 is me, I wanted to include it in the photos to show that the photos are of the real product and not ripped off from an online source.

Feeler: 10x Melles Griot Beam Expanders

I tested just now with my Sanwu 488, 505, and 520nm diode lasers and they it seemed to work fine. Same with my cheap set of red, green, violet laser pens. It also expanded the beam of my helium neon laser and both of my argon lasers without any issue. Is there a specific reason why it only...

Feeler: 10x Melles Griot Beam Expanders

The ones made by jetlasers are Chinese-made, and although I don't doubt their build quality they will obviously be cheaper than Japan or USA made Melles Griot expanders.

Feeler: 10x Melles Griot Beam Expanders

Hi all! I recently came across a listing of second hand beam expanders for a good price on a Chinese ebay-like site. They are used but are in good condition; no scratches on the lenses and only minor cosmetic damage to the anodizing. The seller is offering ten or so for sale, and so I purchased...

    Holography Safe Light

Red LEDs will work fine, you could even use a red laser diode. I use red holography plates so I just have a 50mw green laser with the lens unscrewed pointing behind me, works like a charm.

    Is a 650/405nm 303 Laser DPSS?

Get yourself a pair of safety glasses that protect against both green and IR (these are rather common) and you wont have to worry about either wavelength.

Beginner's Guide: Buying and Operating Your First Argon Ion Laser

Those of you who have seen my thread Argon Ion Laser (Worth the Gamble?) will know I have been on the lookout for an argon ion laser to kick-start my gas laser collection. Through the process of purchasing and operating such a laser, I have gained experience and knowledge about some things that...

Argon Ion Laser (Worth the Gamble?)

The long wait is over, I am now the proud owner of an argon ion laser!!! It arrived yesterday, well packed and fully functional. The laser appears to be a BLUE multi-line laser, outputting six of the eight common visible argon wavelengths. Using a CD as a crude diffraction grating, they were...

Argon Ion Laser (Worth the Gamble?)

After some more digging and trial and error, I have been able to figure out basically all of the operational information I need for this laser (pin-outs, power and current etc.), but I have not been able to find anything that references this particular model directly. If you have any information...

Argon Ion Laser (Worth the Gamble?)

So I decided to pull the trigger on the Melles Griot 35-IMA-830-012. I talked the seller down from $300 to $275, under the condition I cover the shipping fees. I described the fragile nature of the laser tube, and so the seller wrapped the whole thing in bubble wrap and double boxed it. I also...
