Hi
I want to get my green laser pointer measured to see how dangerous it really is, got it from eBay listed as 2mW but I think it's much higher. I live in the UK and I would be very grateful for anyone who can measure my laser for free and I will cover shipping costs.
Thank you very much
Yes that's the one. The successes I read about weren't do do with retinal damage unfortunately but they managed to get somebody with a complete spinal injury to walk again which is amazing, so I thought they might do well in other situations like yours too. Stem Cell Therapy || Spinal Cord...
Thanks for the help anyway.
Its a 1 in a 1000 chance that there is any damage so I'm not worried anymore like I was at first, It must have been like the placebo effect where because I thought I would have damage I imagined it was there!
Glad to hear your eyes are OK.
I'm not going to doctors because there is nothing wrong with my eye (luckily)!
Not because I don't want to...
I trust the optician.
Thanks for all your replies, I was on holiday for 2 weeks and during that time my eye either repaired itself or I was imagining the eye damage and forgot about it completely.
Either way I am very happy it was nothing permanent!
Now I know to never let a friend borrow my laser again!
My friend...
Can the opticians tell you if you have a hole in your retina with there kit?
I was worried about my eyes but went to the opticians and they said I have healthy eyes and good sight, but my eye feels strange...
Thanks
I bought an overspec laser from eBay and I want to filter all the infra-red light out of it.
It might have an IR filter already but I want to buy one anyway to be safe?
I've searched google and I can't find anywhere to buy a filter? (I was also looking for a ND filter to reduce the 79mW to...
Wow 79Mw, that is a lot more than 5!
I assume both yours and would both be roughly the same.
So I guess that could be potentially dangerous...?
What kind of eye damage would occur if the 79mw overspec laser hit somebody's eye?
And I would be interested to know the answer to the question...
Thanks for your information and help.
I would mainly use the laser outside, but I want to get goggles anyway.
Surely the cheap ones would at least prevent permanent damage to eyes, I mean they are advertised as safety goggles so would they work OK? Its not like a 1000mw laser it can't light a...
I physically Cannot afford to buy lots of expensive ones!!
Isn't it better to buy lots of cheaper ones for all my friends/family to wear rather than just buy one eagle pair to protect just my own eyes?
I would play it safe with the Eagle Pair, but it's too expensive to buy about 3-5 pairs. As I want to protect other peoples eyes when i'm showing the laser....
Great point, your eyes are not worth $5!
The only thing is I can't afford 5 pairs of the eagle goggles...
If they will do the job, that should be OK, i'm not planning on doing anything risky with the laser.
Thanks
I have a laser which I don't know the output power and I need to get some goggles, its a green 532nm between 2mw and 150mw.
I'm not planning to do anyhing risky but if the beam hit someones eye, would these goggles stop permanent damage?
