I added a video to the end of the review.... recorded on crappy cell phone (Droid X) without a proper mount or tripod so its not great...

Good info JaiNobeZ
From what you've said the "glasses" I got from Rayfoss are probably od2-3ish and should be okay for use with the 150mw laser.
One thing I've noticed about focusing the laser to burn something is that the distance that you focus it to becomes basically the ONLY place the...
I recieved the items from Rayfoss yesterday and posted a "Noob" review over here:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/rayfoss-rf405-150mw-noob-review-69222.html#post999026
And there are pictures there of the laser going through the goggles onto a wall about 1 foot distant... The dot is visible...
So this is my first "proper" laser. I've owned several cheap red and green lasers before but this is the first one that requires laser safety goggles.

Thanks for the info guys... As I said in the original post my primary concern was only if these goggles were good enough for the relatively low powered 150mw. I will certainly be getting better quality goggles if/when I get a higher powered laser. Also I don't plan on pointing the laser...

Who to believe?? Anyone who actually HAS these goggles and could give input? or direct me to a review/link about them?
Not that I...
Just ordered a 150mw 405nm from rayfoss and tossed these goggles in the cart as well since they are inexpensive and I know I need goggles...

My question is if these goggles are good enough for the relatively low power 150mw (Compared to 1w+) ...
I plan to get other lasers...
Thats part of what confused me... I am well versed in battery chemistry and usage of Alkaline, Nihm(eneloop) rechargeables, Lithium Primaries, and Lithium Ion...
Lithium Ions(16340 and 18650 in this case) are 3.7v so 2 of them would be 7.4v which exceeds the operating voltage Lazerer has...
Also all the info on the lazerer site says they use 2 of the 16340 batteries but under the Reviews section on this forum I saw several reviews of "Rifle445" that say they were using a single 18650(which I would prefer) ...
So do the lasers use the 2x16340 or do they work with 1 18650.... I have...

They seem to have the same or almost same lazer at like 3 different prices...

Looks like I'll be ordering from Lazerer then...
Are the goggles that are also sold at Lazerer sufficient safety for using a 405nm?
Beginner Safety Goggles for 405nm / 445nm Laser
Edit **
Are the Lazerer lasers built with an IR Filter already or is that something I would need to consider...
Would one of those 100mw ones from Lazerer be able to pop dark color balloons and light a sharpied match? I dont need it to do those things from 20 feet away either... just from like 3-4 feet would be fine with me.
New to this forum been reading info (faqs, stickies, random threads) for about a week... I am interested in getting a 405nm for kicks (playing with glow in dark/ flourescense stuff) and to pop balloons and light matches... I choose 405 based on research that while its no the most visibly...
