Why does DragonLasersFanMan continually advocate that it is safe to handle high-power class IIIb's for burning, indoors, without wearing eye protection? Has anyone had a chat with him? Is he on this forum?
IMO, he is inadvertently providing a "comfort blanket" for those who may not be familiar...
I've seen nothing to indicate problems on 64-bit machines, and can't think of a reason that there would be any. In general, folks don't understand the differences in processor architecture or the OS changes to support them. I think it's safe to take the "don't use on x86-64" comment with a grain...
It's incredibly easy to create this folder programmatically (it's literally a one-liner [outside of the main method and any using directives]).
The good news is, you can't really do much with it unless you are on the admin account or have the admin password. This is just a shell folder that...
Came for this, leaving satisfied. "No one can defeat the quad laser!" "The bullet is enormous, there is no escaping!"
On topic, that is a nice setup, man. Looks like a fun piece of kit. :)
So, here is a brief review of these goggles. I ordered two pair (ARG filters in the Medium Adjustable Framed Fit-over style) on 4/11/10, which was a Sunday. They shipped on 4/20/10 due to construction, and I received them today. They were originally $78.20/ea, but by ordering two I received a...
You should never point a laser at your eyes, especially one that can burn things. An IR filter will not change this. All laser light at levels that can burn things is dangerous. It is recommended to wear goggles with any laser greater than 5mW.
I just ordered from OEM Laser Systems. I had asked them some questions regarding the best choices for what I am doing, which they were quick to respond to (and very professional). Don't expect them overnight, however. Once I ordered them, it took a while to ship due to construction (I assume...
Re: PHR zilla!!! BURNING VID!!!!!!!!!
Very nice! I was surprised how quickly it burned the matchbox. I also like your build - it looks very professional.
Survival instincts or not, no lasers are used around my bird (a Hahn's Macaw). Birds tend to have excellent vision - I'm not an expert or anything so this is speculation but I worry that the laser might affect her more than it would me. Plus, they don't make laser safety goggles that small...
You might be a laser nut if you have a deal with the IT department to dispose of their old DVD drives.
You might be a laser nut if you just can't afford to finish remodeling your bathroom...but you did just get a 500mW Herc.
You might be a laser nut if you have a laser radiation warning...
I just ordered a 400mW through the CNI Group Buy (see group buy forum). It's $735 incl. fees and shipping (to put the prices in perspective). I haven't dealt with freaklasers, but I don't see them on the CNI distributors page, so I'm not certain if it is a real CNI. From what I've heard, RayFoss...
