    505nm diodes in use!

Scotopic vision this is level of light so low that you can't even see color of that laser... Everything you see in colors is in photopic range of human vision, this is why 589nm looks brighter than 473nm. It is closer to photopic peak sensitivity of 683lm/W at 555nm If you turn down the...

Witch 400 mW 532 nm Laser should i Buy ?

They are comparable and please don't take their described parameters seriously. For example, 1.2 vs. 1.5mrad.. Despite different companies they are the same in terms of beam quality - low quality. There is kind of beam lottery with cheap lasers.. Usually it is 3,5mm diameter and 1.5-2mrad of...

Let's see how fast you can light a candle!

I can't light a match with my laser, I've had only white wick and white wax candles to try, maybe I should try red candles for better energy absorbtion?

    The $6,000 Beam Expander Experiment

If he pass the beam in reverse direction through such an expensive lens, an unknown physical phenomena can occur, such as light bending, beam beading or negative refractions. He shouldn't try this at home with 6000$ lens.. :D Trevor, please make some test shots when you receive your camera, I...

    The $6,000 Beam Expander Experiment

You've just wasted 6000$ for it becouse it's not working as beam expander. To make a beam expenader from this lens you should spend 1500$ extra and buy this small lens: Canon Normal EF 50mm f/1.2L USM Autofocus Lens 1257B002 B&H and then it will work as 8x beam expander. This lens I recommened...

Where I can buy this voltage monitor? Price? Dimensions? I have at least three project which I can incorporate it in.

Batman - you do it wrong

I bought it from DJNY. I made some changes to the optics and electrical path so it has a bit more power. :) It's hard to determine height of that cloud cover but it was low and solid... maybe 100-200m. It's low stratus cover from moist advection right after warm front in the warm section of...

Batman - you do it wrong

Thank you! I really enjoy such a cloud cover. My friend told me he saw green laser reflections over the town from 2,5km distance in straight line! It must be fantastic view but I wasn't encourage enough to give somebody my laser and to tell him go far and shine it over the sky. You never know if...

    My first RGB laser *update*

Re: My first RGB laser :) Very good simple build:) You should deffinitely get more powerful green module. Where did you get that dichros from?

What power level is needed to clearly see the beam without fog at night?

I can see the 5mm diameter beam of 600mW 532nm laser in the room without smoke during sunny afternoon. Once, I clearly saw the beam in broad sunlight outdoors, when my neighbour made some smoke from hay. :p Another experiment I made with my friend - he clearly saw the beam from my bigger laser...

Teaser: The BlitzBuck - A 2A+ Switching Buck Driver

It would be good if it run the IR diode on 2000mA! But this diode is case positive, if you check it's not a problem to run the diode on negative voltage I'm in. :yh:

Teaser: The BlitzBuck - A 2A+ Switching Buck Driver

I'm sorry May I repeat my question, can it drive 2-5W IR diode from 1x18650 cell?

Teaser: The BlitzBuck - A 2A+ Switching Buck Driver

Can it be run on negative voltage for use with case-positive 808nm IR diodes? I need stable 2000mA driver for 1x18650, which will not damage diode and which will be cool-running, not 3W of additional heat like linear regulator.

What is your internet connection speed?

Now the connection speed is about its maximum, in the evening there will be total traffic jam on the lines.. :(

RGBV single mode pens set for demonstration purposes

Hi, I'm sorry for quite newbish question but I have no time for comprehensive searching of the laser vendors offer last days due to much work. I have to buy some laser wavelengths for demonstration purposes of laser technology progress. I have beautiful and powerful green >500mW laser (thx...

    Laser Crash!!!

I think that tremendous G-forces which appeared during the impact onto the hard surface caused melting and vaporising diode's internal wires and after resublimation they crystalised near the emitter creating kinda superconductor on its surface. Now you can drive it with full 10A of current and...
