I found this the other day and thought a few around here might enjoy it.

Maybe it should be required reading for new members before posting. I know I'd have learned a lot from it. (In fact, I did learn from it. ;) )
Hope you enjoy!
Re: aixiz laser module driver mod?
First, welcome to the forum.
The question you posed has been asked and answered already. ;) When you're searching, be sure to search a few months back...the default is only one week. But to answer your question, the included driver cannot be moded to drive...
Posting here because I almost missed out as I rarely check the Deals Board.
15% is HUGE! Thanks G. I hope you aren't going into the red on any of this. (that was a good pun and I didn't even mean to make it)
We've only got 3 hours left and I don't want anyone to miss out on SenKat Friday
I'm...
I'm sure most have read the suggestion that in order to check current through the LD, one should use a small shunt resistor. And for ease of calculations the most common value used is a 1 Ohm resistor. When places in series with the load on your constant current supply it will not change the...
Is locking several boards something worth considering? Maybe :-/ even to go so far as to lock all but "Welcome" "General" "Companies" "Reviews" and "Safety" to all but members. But that might make this more like a laser club than a laser forum. Anyone have other thoughts on it? especially the...
Has anyone used Powerizer branded 10440s before? I was just looking around BatterySpace.com and found this
I have a few cheapo 8 LED direct drive from 3 AAA lights, a lot like this DX one. how about using that as a host? Just two cells should be enough voltage for a BluRay and constant current...
How about after a search returns no results, it takes you back to the search page so that you can change the search parameters?
I have found that if I hit the back button in firefox after a failed search, I cannot search again without refreshing.
Am I reading the datasheet right?
SPL PL90_3 905nm 75W?!?!?!
and for >$40
That could make a LOT of green.
Or a killer burner. I hate to think about how big the batteries would have to be.
I was wondering how many diodes have died at the hands of forum members. :'(
I've heard of quite a few people buying only one LD and I can't imagine very many of those are still working, but maybe I'm just clumsy. :D
So far, I've killed two. One harvested from a DVD burner and one Senkat GB...
It seems that quite a few people want to buy a LD and an AixiZ, slap it in a flashlight and burn away. I'm sure we'd rather they didn't as more than a few will likely damage an eye or two. But as long as the "Instructions" are out there anyway I'd like to see as few diodes die a meaningless...
Subject says it all. I'm tired of using the viewfinder on my camera, and not willing to risk my eyesight (you only get two chances you know), so I need goggles. If anyone has a pair or two, or WL bucks PM me.
Well, I've done it now. Murdered my first diode... :'(
I was give a dead DVD drive and promptly tore it to shreds. I was rewarded with a beautiful new (to me) LD. I didn't have a module to put it in so I was just holding the diode in it's heatsink/mount from the drive, with a lens from an old...
