yeah i put the project on the shelve for a few months (bought it last summer?) after it didnt work. at the time we thought it was the batteries, and i had tried many different sets including the power supply. i just gave up after a couple weeks.
ive noticed the G2 lens is pretty loose inside...

http://i.imgur.com/ee6RuOy.jpg <--------- the tiny glob of solder on the C1 wasnt there before the problem started occuring, i just did that a couple min ago resoldering the leads.
that's what im going to have to do (send it to you). can you...
well if it was the diode, i would send the unit to DTR for him to put it in, because i have none of the tools to do so. (not implying he gives me a free replacement, i can pay if he needs me to, because, sh*t happens.)
Well did you try anything else, other than the driver, to run the diode?
nope.
That's true, but once you remove the diode from the packaging its no longer protected. You should ground yourself before removing and touching the diode...:undecided:
i never touched the diode itself. and i never...
well they are saying dude, not dud. its throwing me off.
Did you discharge the caps on the driver before connecting up the diode?
yes sir, even though i have no idea if it worked or not.
Did you take electrostatic precautions?
nope. pretty sure everything was in one of those special anti...
this is my first build, i dont have a different driver to test. and i doubt its faulty because lazz tests his drivers before he sends them out. it does heat up very quickly!

now that i know what you are specifically looking at, here is a clearer picture. the two points do not appear to be touching.

here you go. what do you mean by "bridged"?
Photo Album - Imgur <----the pictures.
EDIT: i am supplying 7.2v with my batteries (two 18350's) and when i supply the driver with 6v this dimming DOES NOT OCCUR. not sure why i was told that two 18350's would run this driver. anyways... what is...
I have not ran a test load yet. The driver I bought from lazeerer was set at 1.8 amps and draws a stable 1.8 amps from the power supply. The laser is bright for 0.5 sec then dims greatly. Yes like what happened in the video. Happens each time I power the laser. Bright for .5 sec then dim until I...

Diode + Lens: 445nm M140 Diode In Copper Module With Leads

and a Large Heatsink (milled by a great man that i cant recall...
thanks! those seem like a good deal.
i can turn that little nob on the "445nm M140 Diode In Module With Leads
& 405-G-2 Glass Lens" to focus the laser, correct?
