I would opt for the best hardware solution possible and keep the software simple. If a cap will solve a jitter problem I would go for that. Deadband may be another problem.

can we fully populate the board and just add a jumper for the shunt resistor? I'm thinking if we could just have 2 - 3 jumpers to create high range or power out .... that way I can change my mind without a soldering iron :-)

Re: potential glasses GB? **22 interest so far!** Not to nitpick but are these glasses or goggles that will go over prescription glasses? Is there a link to show what these will look like? (don't need pretty, just protection) :-)
