the diode came in a rerctangular heatsink, it had some orange contacts soldered to the back. after removing the orange things there are the three pins and a tiny black square (barcode possibly?) but nothing green

it's not a PHR, that diode is 49.99 on LaserDIY.com. the diode that both of us bought is 74.99 and listed as "350mW -400mW Blue Laser Diode" and nothing more. Assuming the site's claims are accurate and the diode is capable of outputting 400mW, how much current should i be putting to the...

i think I've got the same diode. i bought a driver and some resistors but i'm stuck there. i dont know which resistor to use or how much current to put to the diode. I got my diode from LaserDIY.com. there really isn't much of a description for the item. all it says is 350-400mw 405nm laser...
