Last time I wrote introduction post about optics in the ECDL. Now let's talk about custom driver designed for it. The driver has to do the following:
Provide low noise, constant current for driving laser diode
drive two Peltier modules with sufficient resolution
Measure temperature of important...
FSR is 1.5GHz (as you can see I put round trip ~250ps) but to analyze pulse evolution in laser cavity you need much higher bandwidth thanks to highly nonlinear effects in the resonator:

Anamorphic prism pair or cylindrical lens pair with f=+40 i f=-4 (or something close to make ~x10 telescope in reasonable space). Additionally, I'm looking for a bunch of collimators, preferably M9. And lens with focal length around 40mm.
The only CW dye laser I ever saw without dye circulation used a single mode diode with very high Q resonator to overcome a really, really low gain due to triplet bleaching. You can't really use multimode pump, as then magic happens in lower intensity points, greatly reducing your gain (ok...
I actually have a monolithic design that may work but requires so much customization that optogama already said 1k pcs minimum.
When you start putting it into "proper" construction as @fabre2 said it'll get quickly expensive. At minimum, you need crystal, OC and best form lens to reimage pump...
No clue about CPU but modern GPU converters are natively CMC with feedforward from clock scaling logic. Otherwise inductor current ramps down so much slower than consumed current that you need absurd capacitance (in dozen mF). So when you want to ramp down clock you actually first inform PDN to...
Linear stage is just wasteful. I'm thinking about a simple, polyphase, current mode converter. Current measurement is already used for balancing, so no need to do current mode -> voltage loop -> current measurement.
Considering that some people here want to use cheap chinese buck converter, no...
I'm slowly designing a switching power supply for my FAP usage. It's polyphase buck converter downconverting 12V input. It'll be a while though before I'm done, but it's already around $100 in parts. There's a reason big part of verdi is just psu.
How do you polish home grown crystals?
