Re: FS: Jibs Linear Drivers - 500mA, 1.3-1.6A, 1.8A

^^^ as his pic shows ... its above C2. I cant do rings like the Chinese drivers because I need a 15mil clearance from the edge of the board. The idea here is to either take the V- from the case pin or solder a bare wire and fold it over the edge to make contact with the pill. A small notch can be made with a file to create a small "channel" for the wire.

ahhh i see. that makes sense...it might not be that big of a deal. actually this way is probably better in alot of builds. cant wait till you get these suckers running rick, if they can be paralleled, then i know whats gonna be powering my sst-90 mag mod. you are planning to make these 3A drivers no?

3A+ is the plan. I have resistors for testing at 1.8A and 3.5A.

@Machro, normal VIN will be 3.7V li-ion. But this chip can take up to 10V. :)

^ yes, but only until you use them for a high powered laser build. THEN, you're walking into the dangerzone KDB. Forget about a wingman and the backup plan when you've got a 1.8A jibdrive. Rarely is there an option to turn back.

Ahh Sunday summertime drinking.....

These drivers alone though, harmless... They pose no threat by themselves

Are these drivers safe ?

They are and I have not seen a bad one yet, but it does not mean it can't happen ... as with all drivers you have to follow some precautions before hooking them up to a diode. 1) Always check the current with a dummy load. 2) Use the proper cells that can provide the current needed by the driver(especially on the 1.8A driver). 3) Before final soldering, discharge the output cap by shorting the LD+ and LD- so it doesn't zap your diode. 4) Exercise proper ESD precautions.

I'd like to buy a driver as well, its the only part left for me, i made it so my diodes are in interchangable housing and all i have to do is unplug my 445 with my 808 and im in the infrared :)

how do i buy one of these from you?

Can't wait for the boost drives!

I just put my lib driver to use. It's working great.

Follow the link to my PP button page in the OP.

I wish USPS would hurry up and deliver my parts from digikey so I can see if it works. :(

Jib. Is filing away the sides of the 1.3A's to make it fit in a aixiz module bad? Also, is it bad for the filed down driver to touch the inside of the aixiz module, touchiung the heatsink? Like will it cause any shorts?
