Yes, toss them in a first class air envelope and ship to me with the customs declaration stating "rubber inserts - $3"....

I'll have to clean the grooves i noticed there is a lot of dirt lodged in them!
But building this lazor is gonna be a joy!

I think that is wax in the grooves. Lava said the host looks really good with some car wax rubbed on the outside.

OK! I guess i know then what to use to get it out!

Seriously, get them inserts shipped to me, they'll be here just in time!

What color inserts do you have? Black right? It's a dark anodizing...

I like it..

Altho the Kryton i have here, is all aluminum, slightly textured, and i like it that way! I might be tempted to put an 8x in there! If i can ever get a second diode...

BTW; your other host is also interesting. Reminds me of a green laser a little. I also like the way the button was made.. It's nice.
Need to find an AixiZ that will be a press-fit for perfect thermal transfer!

Yes the inserts are black. I'll send them today.

So, i decided the first three 8x orders get a Keychain 6x, at parts cost!

The third goes to FrancoRob, since he was the first to order an 8x, the second should probably go to Dave. The third to Bryce.. :yh:

Good, that's the Romisen host, some people call it the "Classic", because while i did make several other models, this one was requested in the majority of orders in the past and the present...

I once butchered Rkcstr's driver to make it 12mm long and get it inside this host!

It's impossible to do with what you are proposing. You'll just have to trust me and go with the right parts i'm afraid...

Well, send me the parts, and the Rayfoss driver, and i'll see if there is ANYTHING i can do to make it fit with the original driver.. If not i'll still buy the Rayfoss driver off of you for testing, or return it to you and use a FlexDrive.

Did you manage to pay for it with PayPal?

Well, your laser lacks a heatsink, which is not too good for the power nor the diode... They last longer when cooled...

I saw it... What's the laser on the right? What host is that?

Hey, you and me both, brother...
I am, or rather will be broke in a day or two, when i order two more 8x's for the MURDER pool...

Anyway, i'll do my best to prepare you an affordable kit for your laser build, but i'd really like to see the parts for myself, so it would be done right, ok?

There is no reason the laser should not be as good as it possibly can! :yh:

Ok. I'll send you the fresh PHR I have sitting around. I'll also send you the rayfoss driver as soon as I receive it so you can play around with it.

Yes, I payed for the rayfoss driver with paypal.
I told rayfoss to set it's current to 110mA.

You said you once managed to butcher a rkcstr driver so it fits the host. Perhaps the same can be possible with the rayfoss driver ?? Since its a DC boost driver, it would work in the host. (assuming it can fit lol)

The laser on the right is my newstyle 200mw red.

Dont worry about my rubber-banded phr lol.
I run it for no more than 10s at once.

Imho, that v3 host/heatsink is THE BEST here considering it's size/looks/heat dissipation.

Thanks for trying to help me get one !!!!!

wow, just came across this post - Franco, excellent work :can: rep (raincheck - I guess I already repped you recently... ;o)

WOAH!!!. That's just impressive.

After IgoT helps me with the PHR v3 build. I'll eventually upgrade it to an 8x or 12x.

Hey IgorT, the host can handle a 12x ?

I mean it's heat sinking abilities are amazing due to its uni-body design but perhaps it might be too small for a 12x ?

I am not sure what current 12x's will require yet!

But if it's not more than 500mA, then yes, the host can EASILY handle it, in a v3 heatsink module...

But a 12x will probably get thermally epoxied into the diode hole, just in case, you know like they often do in the drives...

Hey, no problem, if it helps, but i want to do the diode transplant myself, i have this awesome diode removal tool from Jayrob (thank you Jayrob) made of steel!

I can remove the PHR safelly, PIV plot it, adjust the current according to the PIV plot...

If it's not a good one, i can replace it with one of my own diodes.....

Then you get a mounted, drivered module, if i supply the host, then you are getting a complete laser?!?

WAITAMINUTE!!!

Am i just proposing to build a whole laser for FREE?!?

OMG! I guess i should have slept a few hours in the last few nights... :undecided:

You will build it for FREEEEEE !!!???

If you must insist !!!:D

The rayfoss driver wont ship to me until the 5th. It ships from china so it will probably take some time until I can send it to you.

Actually, I can have them ship it to you directly. Send me your address.

LOL. Just jk.
Anyway, give me your address and I'll let rayfoss know to ship the driver to you.
